Tal Shalom-Kobi has been an active researcher and presenter of music history for the past 20 years. Her mission with the Global Women lecture program is to honor women composers and
songwriters throughout history from different cultures and music backgrounds. In these media-rich lectures Tal covers Jazz, blues, folk and ventures to Latin America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East to celebrate the diversity and power of creativity.
The Global Women lecture Program focuses on music written by women composers and lyricists who used music as a platform to affect positive change within their cultures. In the program Tal includes music from different countries in an engaging presentation rich with audio visual material and live demonstrations.

Celebrating the ratification of the 19 amendment of women right to vote
Jazz and Blues, originated from the African American tradition, were a propelling force in the U.S. during the 1920s, providing females of all ages with an outlet for rebellion in a time when they were also fighting to win the right to vote. A celebration of a 100+ years of the passage of the 19th amendment.
Women of the Americas
Music by North and South American women composers and songwriters. American Jazz music from different eras, Folk music from South America and the Caribbean. The presentation includes anecdotes from the composers’ lives and their music.
